How to Connect Roku to New Wi-Fi Without the Remote
Understand when the phone remote can help—and when the Roku needs a physical remote first.

A phone remote normally needs the phone and Roku on the same network. If the Roku is offline after a reset or Wi-Fi change, use a compatible physical remote or temporarily recreate the old network name and password.
Try the same-network path
If the Roku is still connected to any network you can join, connect the iPhone to that network and open the remote app. Then change the Roku network from Settings.
When the Roku is fully offline
The mobile remote cannot discover an offline Roku. A compatible replacement remote is the dependable solution. A temporary hotspot matching the old Wi-Fi can work in some setups, but requires a second device and exact old credentials.
