How Many Flashcards Should You Study at Once?

There is no universal perfect number. Start with 15–25 new cards, keep the session short, and reduce the batch if reviews pile up or your answers become shallow.
Use time and accuracy
A manageable batch lets you attempt every answer and revisit misses. If you are clicking through without thinking, the batch is too large even if the number looks modest.
Separate new and review cards
Finish due reviews before adding many new cards. New cards create future work, so increase them only when you can keep up for several days.
