Quick answer

Empty Recently Deleted, restart the iPhone, and give the storage chart time to recalculate.

1. Empty Recently Deleted

Deleted photos stay here for 30 days and can still use storage.

  1. Open Recently Deleted.
  2. Unlock the album.
  3. Review the items.
  4. Tap Select, then Delete All.

2. Check iCloud syncing

If Photos is still syncing, storage totals can lag. Connect to Wi-Fi and power, then leave Photos open for a few minutes.

3. Refresh the storage chart

Restart the iPhone, then reopen iPhone Storage. Large libraries may take several minutes to recalculate.

  1. Restart the iPhone.
  2. Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Wait for the category chart to finish loading.

Still full?

Look for downloaded shows, message attachments, offline music, and large apps. Photos may not be the biggest category anymore.
