Favorite the photos you return to, create a few albums you will actually use, then filter the rest to find screenshots, videos, and photos that are not in an album. Keep the system simple enough to maintain.
Build a simple system
Start with Favorites for your best photos. Add only a few useful albums, such as Trips, Family, Receipts, or Projects. Too many albums become another kind of clutter.

- Create three to five albums for things you look for often.
- Use folders only when you need to group several related albums.
Clean before you organize
Photos can filter your library by media type, favorites, and items that are not in an album. Review obvious clutter before spending time filing everything.
Common questions
Do albums make duplicate copies?
No. An album points to photos already in your library, so adding a photo to an album does not create another full copy.
How many albums should I make?
Only make albums that solve a real finding problem. A short list is easier to keep useful.
