How to Scan a Document on iPhone
Turn a paper page into a clean digital scan with the tools already on your iPhone.

Open Preview, choose Scan Documents, hold the page inside the frame, and let the iPhone capture it. Adjust the corners, add more pages if needed, then tap Done.
Capture a clean scan
Place the page on a flat surface with even light. Keep the camera directly above it so the text stays square and easy to read.
- Open Preview and choose Scan Documents.
- Hold the full page inside the camera view.
- Capture automatically or press the shutter button.
- Adjust the corners, color, or rotation.
- Add more pages, then tap Done.
Check it before sharing
Zoom in on small text, signatures, and page edges. Rescan a blurry page before sending the file.
Common questions
Can I scan more than one page?
Yes. Keep scanning before tapping Done and the pages will stay together.
Can I scan a signed document?
Yes. Use even light and check that the signature is sharp before saving.
