Quick answer

Connect the iPhone remote to the Roku on the same Wi-Fi, select a text field on the TV, then tap the keyboard icon in the remote app and type.

Open the keyboard

The keyboard appears when the Roku is connected and a supported text field is active.

  1. Join the same Wi-Fi as the Roku.
  2. Connect to the device.
  3. Move the TV cursor into a search or sign-in field.
  4. Tap the keyboard icon and type.

If text does not appear

Try a different text field, reconnect the device, and check Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps. Some channel screens do not accept mobile keyboard input.

Common questions
